Cutting-Edge, Clinically-Focused, Evidence-Informed, Expert-Driven Training in Chiropractic Pediatrics

The Master of Science degree in Chiropractic Pediatrics (MSCP) provides high-quality, clinically focused, specialized training for Doctors of Chiropractic who want to take their pediatric knowledge and expertise to a higher level, and feel confident delivering safe and effective pediatric chiropractic healthcare to the youngest members of our society.

Led by program founder Elise Hewitt, DC, DICCP, FICC, one of the foremost authorities in the specialty of chiropractic pediatrics, Logan’s Master of Science in Chiropractic Pediatrics is the first pediatrics master’s program in the United States available to Doctors of Chiropractic and the only one to provide chiropractic-specific education. The two-year, part-time degree is offered primarily online with annual in-person sessions for supervised practice and hands-on learning. This program is open to U.S. DC’s, to international chiropractors with a DC-equivalent degree, and to DC students with advanced standing.

With the Master of Science degree in Chiropractic Pediatrics, chiropractors gain a working knowledge and understanding of the anatomy, physiology, neurology, and nutritional needs of pediatric patients, including the health impacts of the prenatal environment and birth process. MSCP students also learn how to diagnose and manage common and uncommon pediatric health conditions while appraising and assimilating scientific evidence. Manual therapy skills are enhanced with advanced training in pediatric-specific spinal, cranial and extremities techniques. In addition, MSCP students learn to manage pediatric patients with sports injuries and extremity conditions, including mild traumatic brain injury.

Both a traditional pediatric diplomate certification and the Master of Science in Chiropractic Pediatrics program (MSCP) provide important pathways toward specialization in the field of pediatric chiropractic. There are two significant differences between the two programs:

  • The master’s program offers over four times as much instructional content as a traditional diplomate program, with integration of content throughout the program. This allows students to take a deeper dive into the subject matter and literally become masters in the specialty of chiropractic pediatric.
  • While diplomate certifications are overseen within the chiropractic profession, students graduate from Logan’s pediatrics program with a master of science degree, which is an academic degree that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, and hence one that’s recognized across professions.

Both the traditional diplomate certification and the master’s degree pathways are important avenues for specialization, and one doesn’t replace the other. Logan’s Master of Science in Integrative Pediatrics is for Doctors of Chiropractic who desire greater content, depth, and integration in their specialty training and who want to earn an academic degree that is recognized across professions.

For those who want both a pediatrics master’s degree and diplomate certification, graduates of Logan’s MSCP program qualify to register for the diplomate examination of the American Board of Chiropractic Pediatrics (ABCP).
